- the plastic material of the pallet is mixed with nanocomposites, in particular nanotubes. Nanocomposites are materials whose phase size is of the order of one nanometer and which has a high tensile strength. Therefore, a mixture of plastic and nanocomposites can achieve a significant reduction in the weight of the pallet while maintaining equivalent mechanical properties. In addition, nanocomposites have good thermomechanical properties for high performance applications.
- the weight of the pallet 1 can be reduced to about 7.5 kilograms, while the usual weight of a plastic pallet, the same dimensions and the same honeycomb structure, is of the order of 11 kg.
- the thickness and the height of the walls 5 and 9 are chosen to be equal to approximately 2.5 mm and 30 mm for example.
- the height of the soles 4 was chosen equal to about 20 mm.
- the weight of a pallet of 1200 * 1000 * 150 according to the invention reaches barely more than 9 kilograms.
- the invention is not limited to the sole embodiment of this plastic handling pallet which has been described above, by way of example; it embraces, on the contrary, all variants respecting the same principle.
- we would not move away of the scope of the invention if only part of the plastic pallet is made of nanocomposites; by modifying the detail of the shapes of the openwork structure in "honeycomb"; adapting the invention to pallets of greater or lesser dimensions, with more or fewer feet; by applying this invention to pallets without soles and stackable, in which case, of course, the perforated honeycomb structure will only concern the plate and the feet of the pallet; more generally, by applying the invention to all handling products with tray or floor and feet, similar to pallets, for example crates-pallets; by making pallets, or the like, of any suitable plastics material.
