Abstract

L'invention concerne des dispositifs et des procédés pour déterminer les propriétés de parois tubulaires en vue d'effectuer un diagnostic clinique et un traitement améliorés. De façon avantageuse, on enregistre les caractéristiques de parois tubulaires qui correspondent à la capacité de dilatation et à l'élasticité des parois tubulaires. De manière plus spécifique, l'invention concerne un procédé de détermination quantitative de la vitesse de propagation d'une onde de pression dans des vaisseaux sanguins, caractérisant ainsi, entre autres, le module de Young, la capacité de dilatation, l'élasticité et le facteur de réflexion d'anévrismes, de parties de vaisseaux sanguins avec et sans lésion. Les propriétés déterminées peuvent en outre être utilisées pour évaluer le degré de calcification de parties de vaisseaux sanguins avec et sans lésion. Les valeurs déterminées peuvent être calculées et rapportées en chiffres absolus sous forme de rapport entre la valeur de paramètre approprié dans la région avec lésion et la valeur de paramètre dans une région sans lésion, du même patient. En variante, le système permet de calculer et d'établir un rapport entre le paramètre approprié déterminé dans la région avec lésion, du patient, et une valeur moyenne standard du paramètre approprié, mesurée dans un groupe de personnes saines présentent une physiologie similaire (groupe d'âges, sexe, type de vaisseau, etc.). Ces valeurs servent à déterminer la méthode de traitement optimale sur le plan médical et économique, ou la combinaison optimale de ces méthodes, et à évaluer l'efficacité et le succès du traitement choisi, pendant la procédure et au fil du temps. Ces méthodes permettent de mesurer les modifications physiologiques, par ex. fonctionnelles, dans la paroi artérielle, et d'atteindre un niveau de traitement inconnu jusqu'à présent en médecine clinique.
