Abstract

The invention concerns a playing card (10). In order to play various card games, known playing cards have to be held in the player's hand. As a result, players frequently have to concentrate more on handling the cards than on the game itself. Furthermore, conventional cards have the disadvantage of rapidly becoming worn or sticking together as a result of being used. The object of the invention is to provide playing cards (10) with which a plurality of different card games can be played and the cards can be handled more easily. A playing card (10) is provided with a sheet bearing a face (14) displaying the card value (clubs, spades, hearts or diamonds) and a neutral reverse side (16). The sheet consists of a rigid plate (12) approximately 2 mm thick.

Die erfindungsgemäße Spielkarte weist als Blatt eine starre Platte mit einer Dicke von mindestens 2 mm, vor¬ zugsweise mindestens 3 mm und insbesondere 4 oder 5 mm auf. Durch diese Mindeststärke wird erreicht, daß die Spielkarten räumliche, quaderförmige Gebilde sind. Die Spielkarten weisen Schmalseiten auf, die die Ansichts¬ seite und die neutrale Rückseite verbinden und die es erlauben, die Spielkarte, ggf. an einer Stützwand, auf einer der Schmalseiten stehend aufzustellen. Es ist da¬ her nicht erforderlich, sämtliche Spielkarten in der Hand zu halten, so daß sich der Spieler mehr auf das Kartenspiel als auf die Handhabung der Karten konzen¬ trieren kann. Die flächig ausgebildeten Schmalseiten erlauben darüber hinaus auch eine bessere Handhabung der Spielkarten beim Abheben, da sie vom Rand her ergriffen werden kön¬ nen und nicht, wie beim Stand der Technik, ein Einklem¬ men der Ansichts- und der Rückseite erfordern. Ferner erleichtern die erfindungsgemäßen Spielkarten das Mi¬ schen. Die in einem Kartenspiel zu verwendenden Spiel¬ karten können mit ihrer Ansichtsseite nach unten auf einen Tisch gelegt werden und durch Verschieben ge¬ mischt werden. Da die einzelnen Spielkarten mit ihren Schmalseiten aneinander abgleiten, kann eine gute Durchmischung erzielt werden, ohne daß sich einzelne Spielkarten gegenseitig aufrichten.
