  • the invention relates to a display package, which allows products to be transported and to display them for the consumption thereof.
  • Packages for the transport of products to be displayed at a point of sale are known, such as for examples cardboard boxes. These packages have the drawback that upon arriving at the point of sale, an operator must, after opening the package, place the products for the displaying thereof, normally on shelves set up at the point of sale. These packages require the operator to manipulate the transported products in order to place them and also require free shelves to be provided at the point of sale, which not only involves having to invest the time of the operator, but also requires that the point of sale has free shelves.
  • the display package of the present invention is one that comprises a box with a bottom and lateral walls adapted for containing products and displaying them, said box being provided with a foldable lid which covers the box in a closed position and which uncovers the box in an assembled position of the display package, the lid being articulatedly joined to the upper edge of a functional wall of the lateral walls.
  • the display package is characterized in that the lid comprises at least one fold line, parallel to said upper edge, which determines a first area of the lid provided with a perpendicular flange which, in the closed position thereof, partially covers the laterals of the box externally; and in that in the assembled position of the display package, the fold line is applied on the lower edge of the functional wall, thereby allowing the cited first area of the lid to be applied against the bottom of the box, folded around said fold line, the edges of the flange forming a stable support for the box uncovered in the manner of a display.
  • the display package allows the products to be transported in the interior of the box when the lid covers the box and that this same lid, upon being opened, can support the box so that the box adopts a stable position upon the bottom of the box being supported on the first area of the lid, since it is provided with flanges, it allows the box to be stable on the floor and it can be used in the manner of a display for the products which it contains.
  • the form of the flanges of the first area of the lid determine the position and angle which the box supported in the assembled position adopts.
  • the flange ends, at each side of the lid, on both edges which extend inclined at an angle from the fold line, these edges in the assembled position of the display package determining respective support bases for the box on a floor, the box being inclined in the assembled position at the same angle with respect to the floor.
  • the lid also comprises an intermediate fold line between the upper edge of the functional wall and the fold line, parallel to both, which determines, at one intermediate fold line side, a second intermediate area of the lid and, at the other intermediate fold line side, a third lid area adjacent to the upper edge, the second and third areas of the lid and the functional wall in the assembled position of the display package configuring a triangular foot section, with the edges of the flanges coplanar with the second area of the lid, said second area of the lid forming a support plane of the box, thereby allowing a stable support of the box assembled in the manner of a display to be formed which prevents the box being able swing or fall.
  • first area, the second area and the third area of the lid cover the box in the closed position, without requiring additional closing element of the box.
  • the flange of the lid has lateral sections in the form of a trapezoid, one of the sides of the trapezoid being the inclined edge which determines the inclination of the box in the assembled position.
  • said trapezoid can be a rectangular trapezoid such that the flange can surround the first area of the lid, thereby allowing it not only to reinforce the support of the box in the open position, but also reinforce the fit of the lid on the box in the closed position.
  • the lid only has lateral flanges, although the support of the package in the assembled position thereof will not be as stable.
  • the package in the closed position, is a parallelepiped such that it allows the easy storage and stacking thereof.
  • This parallelepiped is preferably a cuboid or prism with a square or rectangular base, thereby allowing both the stacking thereof and optimizing the space in which they can be placed in the manner of a mosaic, thereby allowing the transport thereof in larger boxes or containers.
  • other parallelepipeds are also considered, such as prisms with a pentagonal, hexagonal or octagonal base, amongst others.
  • the box comprises shelves arranged parallel to the functional wall, such that the products are supported on the shelves and the bottom of the box in the open position and assembled with the display.
  • the display package is manufactured in cardboard, allowing the preparation thereof by cutting and folding cardboard.
  • the display package can be formed from a single sheet of cardboard cut and folded conveniently.
  • FIG. 1 depicts a view of the display package of the present invention closed
  • FIG. 2 depicts a first stage of the assembly of the display package
  • FIG. 3 depicts a second stage of the assembly of the display package
  • FIG. 4 depicts a view of the display package assembled in the manner of a display.
  • the display package 1 of the present invention shown in FIG. 1 in the closed position A thereof comprises a box 2 with a bottom 3 and lateral walls 4 adapted for containing products and displaying them and a foldable lid 5 which covers the box 2 .
  • the package 1 is a parallelepiped, specifically a cuboid which facilitates the transport and storage thereof, the lid 5 being one of the faces of the parallelepiped.
  • the lid 5 is foldable and covers the box 2 in the closed position A and uncovers the box 2 in an assembled position B of the display package 1 , suitable so that the consumers can access the products stored in a point of sale, as will be seen below.
  • the display package 1 can be manufactured in cardboard, for example from a sheet of cardboard cut and folded.
  • FIG. 2 shows a first stage of the assembly sequence of the display package 1 , in which the lid 5 is opened, uncovering the interior of the box 2 .
  • the lid 5 is articulatedly joined to the upper edge 6 of a functional wall 4 ′ of the lateral walls 4 , the lid 5 comprising at least one fold line 7 , parallel to said upper edge 6 , which determines a first area 8 of the lid 5 provided with a perpendicular flange 9 , which, in the closed position A previously shown in FIG. 1 , partially covers the laterals of the box 2 externally.
  • the flange 9 ends, at each side of the lid 5 on both edges 10 which extend inclined at an angle ⁇ from the ends 11 of the fold line 7 , which determine, in the assembled positon B of the display package 1 , respective support bases for the box 2 on a floor, as will be shown below.
  • This flange 9 of the lid 5 surrounds the first area 8 of the lid 5 and has lateral sections 16 in the form of a trapezoid, specifically a rectangular trapezoid which determine the edges 10 .
  • the lid 5 comprises an intermediate fold line 12 between the upper edge 6 of the functional wall 4 ′ and the fold line 7 , parallel to both, which determines, at one intermediate fold line side 12 , a second intermediate area 13 of the lid 5 and, at the other intermediate fold line side 12 , a third area 14 of lid adjacent to the upper edge 6 , which, together with first area 8 , cover and close the box 2 in the closed position A.
  • the display package 1 Departing from the position shown in FIG. 2 , upon proceeding to fold said fold line 7 and intermediate fold line 12 , the display package 1 adopts the assembly sequence position shown in FIG. 3 and continuing the folding thereof, the position shown in FIG. 4 is reached, in which the display package 1 is configured in the assembled position B thereof, arranged in the manner of a display, in which the fold line 7 is applied on the lower edge 6 ′ of the functional wall 4 ′, thereby allowing the cited first area 8 of the lid 5 to be applied against the bottom 3 of the box 2 , folded around said fold line 7 , the edges 10 of the flange 9 forming a stable support for the box 2 uncovered in the manner of a display.
  • the second and third areas 13 , 14 of the lid 5 and the functional wall 4 ′ in this assembled position B of the display package 1 determine a foot 15 with triangular section, the edges 10 of the flanges 9 being coplanar with the second area 13 of the lid 5 such that said second area 13 of the lid 5 forms a support plane of the box 2 , the box 2 being inclined with respect to the floor at the same angle ⁇ at which the edges 10 extend.
  • the box 2 comprises shelves 17 arranged parallel to the functional wall 4 ′ which join lateral walls 4 of the box 2 parallel to each other, dividing the interior of the box 2 into equal enclosures.
