ADJUSTABLE BAKING-RING.
Specification of Letters Patent.
llpplication flled February 24, 1914.. Serial No.
ll,llll,882.
Patented se t. 115, 1914. 820,551.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, DAVID BUscH, a citizen of the United States, residing at Washington, District of Columbia, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Adjustable Baking-Rings, of whichthe following is a specification.
his invention relates to a new and useful improvement in rings for baking biscuits, cakes, muffins and similar articles, and its object is the production of an adjustable ring, which may be varied within the limits of the largest and smallest sizes of which The invention consists primarily in an adjustable baking ring.
In the drawings: Figure top view of the device at the adjustment. Fig. 2
1 represents a outer limit of represents an edge view. Fig. 3 represents a top View of the device at the inner limit of adjustment.
In these drawings the numeral 1 designates a single strip having parallel edges and made of elastic material continuously both surfaces, havin the same width throughout and adapted to be used as a ring for baking biscuits, cakes, muflins,-etc. At the ends 2 and 3 of this strip 1 there are loops 4 and 5. The body of the strip passes and 5 so that the strip 1 is slidable through both loops. One loop 4 has a binding screw I 6 passing into it so as to bind against the strip 1.
,If desired the strip may have on its surof any desired movement upon 7 In use, the ring is made size withinthe limit of its itself. It may be opened to the largest size, as shown in Fig. 1, or compressed to the smallest size as shown in Fig. 2. The loops 4 and 5 hold the ends of the strip and also and inner movement of ad- Within these limits, the strip is adjustable. The sizes may be varied to suit any amount of change. With the scale the strip may be adjusted to any determined size. While the binding screw 6 may be useful, it is not essential as the elasticity of through. these loops 4:,
the strip will bind it sufiiciently against the loops so as to prevent any unintentional changes in the size of the ring.
This elastic strip passing through these loops is held therein in any adjustable position by the pressure of the strip upon the This produces a baking ring having length and without any attachments thereto, being like the ordinary baking ring, except that it is adjustable. The ends are held to the strip forming the ring complete ring without any liability of an end catching into anything. With such an invention applied to baking rings the number of these rings to be carried by an establishment will be very sensibly diminished. There need be instock only enough to bake articles of one size. Because the rings may be adjusted for any size and after one size is cooked, the rings may be adjusted for another. size. his device not having any bottom is to be laced upon a suitable bakin pan. Accordmg to pan, as many rings as desired may and of. different sizes, thus baking sized cakes with the same heat. is of uniform size and has Without be used, difierent The strip parallel edges having any projections beyond the edges. The ring is cylindrical and will be flat on the pan upon whichever edge the strip be placed. And it maybe used with either edge down.
Having described my claim is: I I A cylindrical baking ring consisting of a single uniform strip of elastic material, having parallel edges and continuous smooth faces, and at each end a loop, the strip passinvention, what I ing through these loops, the strip bearing against the loops, adjustable therethrough, and held in adjustable position by the pressure upon the loops.
