922,817. Sanitary closets. SHANKS & CO. Ltd. Dec. 28, 1961 [Dec. 28, 1960], No. 44406/60. Class 26. An assembly of a cistern and water-closet pedestal incorporates a cistern attached to the pedestal by several sets of attaching means, each set consisting of a screw threaded member 5 with a head and a barrel at least a portion of which is screw threaded, the barrel penetrating the cistern bottom 1, and an internally screw threaded sleeve 9 screwed on to the end of the member 5 to clamp it to the cistern and of such a length that when screwed fully home a portion of it projects beyond the end of the member 5, into which portion is screwed one end of a screw-threaded bar 11, the other end thereof penetrating a portion 4 of the pedestal to be engaged by a nut 12 to hold the pedestal to the cistern. The assembly may include a siphon 2, a flange 3 on the lower end of the downcomer leg thereof being penetrated by at least selected members 5. The sleeves 9 may be formed with polygonal portions, the members 5 may be bolts and sealing washers 6, 7 and 10 may be threaded thereon.
