Abstract
816,291. Conveyer tracks. GUTEHOFFNUNGSHUTTE STERKRADE A.G. June 28, 1955 [July 5, 1954], No. 18604/55. Class 104 (2). In a conveyer roller track such as are used in articulated conveyers in mining operations in which a track surface is formed by a series of track members arranged end-to-end and having a cross-section including a float load-carrying tread flange 1 and a flat flange extending perpendicular thereto and in which inserts 4 are disposed between successive track members the inserts 4 are narrower than the flat load-carrying tread flanges 1 and the adjacent ends of the flat load-carrying tread flanges 1 are forked to embrace the inserts 4. The inserts 4 may be rhombic, circular or elliptical shaped or waisted at their centre as shown in Fig. 3. The ends of the inserts 4 may also be bounded by a chord formed by a line 7, Fig. 7, extending transversely to the track. The waisted insert, shown in Fig. 3, prevents longitudinal separation of, the track members. The track members are supported at their ends by cambers 5 arranged on the underside thereof on a bearing plate 3 on a line transverse to the track.
