Abstract

A urine absorbing pad is specially designed for male use and to be worn inside underwear. The pad is made in such a way to form a cup 1 which holds the penis of a wearer. The pad may have two "wings" 2, 3 by which it can be attached, by means of adhesive, to underwear. The pad may be made of disposable, sterile and absorbent material with a membrane to let urine through and keep the penile area dry.

Description

1 2449060 DESCRII'TJOtsJ -uTILE URINE RESIDUE REMOVER (URR)
Background
Healthy men have hoses (penises) which after urinating and shaking retain urine residue which leaks onto underwear garments leaving the area unclean. The urine residues remover (URR) is a product to be worn inside men's underwear where the penis rests. The LIRR removes the residue that remains after men urinate and living the vital parts clean as men go about their business. With the URR there is no need for shaking and no dribbling, there is no smell and underwear are clean at the end of the day. It is a hygienic shield for men and a new thinking in the way men dress.
Statement of invention
The Urine Residue Remover (URR) is a new idea, a new thinking designed to support men's health and revolutionise men's thinking about themselves in an area which society has not yet attended to.
The URR is made of disposable, sterile and absorbent material with a membrane to let the urine through and keep the penile area dry. It is shapes so that it has a form of a cup to hold the glands penis on to the URR and allow the URR to absorb any urine residue that is there. It sits in side underwear at front where the penis rests.
Preferably it has a sticky under surface allowing it to attach to the underwear garment Preferably it has a sticky flaps which allowing it to attach to the sides of the underwear garment.
The Advantages -Improved hygiene for men from the current situation.
-It is an area society has not attended to until now.
-It may be adopted to support application of creams and medications.
Drawings The drawings used in this description are now introduced.
Figure 1: Figure 1 shows the URR from the frontal view. It consists of a cup in the middle and may have fins used to attach it to the underwear.
Figure 2: Figure 2 shows the URR from a side view. The cup and the fins are shown.
Figure 3: Figure 3 shows the URR from a side view as in Fig 2 above. The fins are shown folded back and the main dimensions and angles are given.
Figure 4a: Figure 4a shows that the URR cup is made of a light soft and flexible material that is three layered with an absorbent middle integrated into the skin or structure of the cup.
Figure 4b: Figure 4a shows that alternatively the three layers with an absorbent middle can be set as a separate piece that is placed inside the LTRR cup.
Figure 5: Figure 5 shows how the URR cup can be constructed from a single piece material cut in the shape and to the dimensions shown for a standard URR. It may be produced in smaller sizes and larger sizes. To form the cup the material may be folded or joined along the doted lines as shown.
Figure 6 Figure 5 shows the URR cup can also be constructed from two pieces -an upper piece and lower piece fastened together at the seam as shown. There are other ways in which the URR cup can be made.
With reference to the drawings the URR will now be described in detail.
In Figure 1, the product is shown in the regular adult size and stretched open. The dotted lines show the demarcation between the cup (1) and the fins (2) and (3).
Stretched open like this, the base of the cup is curved at an angle of 102 all round; e.g. angle (A)-(B is 102 . From the top lip to the base (line A) the cup is 7.7cm long and from the bottom lip into the base (line B) the cup is 5cm deep. Stretched open as it is shown, the mouth of the cup opens vertically to 10cm (line C). Sideways, the mouth stretches to around 16cm wide at the top (D) and 13cm wide at the bottom (E).
In Figure 2, the URR is shown folded side ways. If folds almost flat. Folded that way the height of the cup (F) is 12.5cm long. From the top (1') the side (C) comes down for 7.5cm at an angle of 8 from the vertical (z), then curves round at an angle of 135 (ii) and continues as (H) for 6.Ocm to the bottom tip (J), touching) at an angle of 52 from the horizontaj (iii). From the bottom tip (J) it rises upwards as side K at an angle of 94 (iv) and for 7.9 cm then curving at an angle of 155 (v) as it reaches the fin (M2). It turns upwards at point N at an angle of 90 (vi) and rises as (0) for 3cm to point R. At point R it turns left at an angle of 950 (vii) for 4.2cm then continues onward as Q for 10.6cm curving upwards at an angle of 155 (viii). Then for the last 2.5cm (of the 10.6cm), it curves inwards slightly at an angle of 155 (ix) meeting with the side (G) at point P an angle of 166 (x).
It terms of the dimensions, F (vertical is l2.5cm long (Actual P-I = G + H = 13.5cm); U1 (horizontal) is 2.Ocm long (Actual P-I =G = 7.5cm); Vi (horizontal) is 9.8cm long (Actual P-W = 10.6cm); V3 (horizontal) is 4.0cm long (Actual W-R = M1= 4.2cm.; U2 (horizontal) is 2.5cm long (Actual I -J = H = 6.0cm); V2 (horizontal) is 7.0cm long (actual I -L = K 7.9cm); V4 (Horizontal) is 3.5cm long (Actual L -N = M2 = 3.6). With regards to the fin, M2 (Actual) is 3.6cm; 0 (Actual) is 3cm; M1 (Actual) is 4.2cm; and, W -L (Actual) is 3.7cm.
Line S -T (mid point between P and W (Actual) and J and L (Actual) is 7.8cm. * 4
In Figure 3, Figure 2 is repeated but the fins are shown folded backwards. The main dimensions the main angles are shown. The dimensions: F (vertical is 12.5cm long (Actual P-f C + H = 13.5cm); Ui (horizontal) is 2.0cm long (Actual P-I =G 7.5cm); V1 (horizontal) is 9.8cm long (Actual P-W= 10.6cm); V3(horizontal) is 4.0cm long (Actual W-R = M1= 4.2cm. ; U2 (horizontal) is 2.5cm long (Actual I -J = H = 6.0cm); V2 (horizontal) is 7.0cm long (actual J -L K = 7.9cm); V4 (Horizontal) is 3.5cm long (Actual L -N = M2 = 3.6). With regards to the fin, M2 (Actual) is 3.6cm; 0 (Actual) is 3cm; Mi (Actual) is 4.2cm; and, W -L (Actual) is 3.7cm. Line S -T (mid point between P and W (Actual) and J and L (Actual) is 7.8cm.
The Angles: (x) = 166 ; (ii) = 135 ; and (iii) = 52 .
Figure 4a shows the URR is made of a light soft and flexible material in three layers and of any colour, preferably biodegradable and preferably water degradable so it can be flushed down in toilets. The layers consists of X, the top porous membrane that allows moisture through, to keep the glands penis dry; Y, a thin absorbent layer designed to absorb urine residue; preferably medicated to prevent odours; and, Z the ultra-thin backing.
The absorbent layer Y, preferably of dimensions 5-15cm in diameter, should only apply to the central area of the cup as an underlay to the top porous layer. The rest of the URR and in particular the fins could be made as a continuation of just the top and bottom layers (XZ) with no absorbent layer in between. Alternatively, the fins which are optional may be a continuation of just the ultra-thin backing layer (Z), preferably sticky to allow it to attach easily to men's underwear. The complete product should be is flexible enough to be rolled up into a thin rod, or thin flat pack for packaging.
Figure 4b shows as an alternative construction of the URR. It shows that the two functional layers i.e. the porous membrane (X) and the absorbent underlay (Y) can be applied to the URR cup as a separate piece. In this alternative case the cup will be made of the single material Z. The functional piece consisting of the porous membrane (X), * 5 the absorbent underlay (Yi) and an ultra-thin backing membrane (Y2) preferably sticky so that it can stay in position in the cup can then be added separately.
In this case the cup is reusable and the spent absorbent piece is replaceable, preferably up to three times in any one day.
Figure 5, shows one of the many ways in which the URR can be constructed. In this case it can be made from a single piece of material of dimension 28cm wide X 17.5cm long.
From the apex point (P) a curved line (Qi) is drawn to the left at an initial at an angle of 15 to the horizontal (xi). It comes down and curving up wards at an angle of 166 (ix) and becoming the fin (2) for the remaining 4cm. At point R it turns at an angle of 95 to come down as Oi for 3cm to point N. At point N it turns at an angle of 90 (vi) and continues as M2 for 3.6cm then curving downwards as Ki at an angle of 155 (v) for 7.9cm and then continues on for a further 6.6cm at an angle of 50 from the horizontal reaching the bottom point as g. The right side of the URR should be drawn as a mirror image of the left side.
The other dimensions of the URR are as follows: Vib (distance between the fins at the lop) is 19.5cm; V, (distance between the fins at the bottom) is 20.5cm; WI (vertical distance between the apex P at the top and the fold line, e) is 12.6cm; W2 (vertical distance between the apex at the top and the fins) is 3.9cm.
On the bottom of figure 5, a horizontal line e should be marked at a point 4cm from the bottom point of line g, to form an isosceles triangle. Next one half of the triangle on the right hand side, e-f, should be cut away. Fold lines, a b, c, d and h should then be marked. The dimensions are as follows: a = 5cm; b = 5cm; and, c = 4cm; d = and 3.4cm.
Angles a/b; b/d; d/c; ale; and e/f are all right angles = 90 Angles a/h and b/h are 90 . Angle xv is 135 .
This is the final template from which the UIRR can be made by folding it along h (the fold line or cutting it and joining it) as shown by the curved dotted arrow so that line, a-f, is aligned with line, b-c and g is aligned with Kz. * 6
In assembling the URR, the absorbent middle, Y -should be applied to the centre integrated into the structure of the cup or alternatively be inserted as a separate piece as described above in Figure 4b.
Figure 6, shows one alternative way in which the URR can be constructed. In this case it can be made from two pieces -a top piece (la) and a bottom piece (ib).
The top piece is 18cm x 7.5cm and can be made of material of those dimensions. From the mid point (F) a line (Qi) is drawn to the left at an initial at an angle of 15 to the horizontal. It continues curving downwards at an angle of 83 from the vertical (xxi), then curving upwards at an angle of 166 for 10.3cm. From there it turns at an angle of 56o and continues for 10.2 then rises joining up with its mirror image on the right hand side at an angle of 135 (xvii). Once the mirror image is complete, this becomes the top piece which can be used as a template for the regular size URR.
The bottom piece including the fins is 25cm x 9cm and can be made of material of those dimensions. From the mid point (F2) a line (X2) is drawn to the left at an initial angle of 15 from the horizontal for 10.2cm. Then it curves downwards at an angle of 152 (xix) to join the fin (2) as Mia for the remaining 4.2cm to point R. At point R it turns at an angle of 95 to come down as Oi for 3cm to point N. At point N it turns at an angle of 90 and continues as M, for 3.7cm, then curving downwards at an angle of 155 (xx) it continues for 7.4cm as half of M and straightening out as it joins its mirror image on the right hand side.
The other dimensions of the two pieces making the cup are as follows: the top piece is 7.5cm long (AA vertical) 18cm wide (TI Horizontal); the bottom piece is 5cm long (BB vertical) and also (excluding the fins) 18cm wide at the top (T2 Horizontal); and 14.8cm wide at the bottom (ZI + Z2 Horizontal).
In assembling the two pieces are affixed together at the seams. XI and X2 and Yl and Y2 as shown. Again the 3rd layer -the absorbent middle, Y -should be applied to the middle of the cup integrated into the structure of the cup or alternatively as a separate piece added to the cup and renewable as described above in Figure 4.
