Abstract

A hollow cylindrical scoop- shaped device (1) facilitates scooping of solid and semi-solid refuse off hard ground or vegetation covered ground through manipulation of the device by a pivotally attached handle (21). The refuse scooped is collected in a conventional disposable paper or plastics bag (11) detachably attached in a trailing position by a clamp (45). The paper or plastics bag is protected by a guard (36) at the bottom of the device. The handle may include a detachably attached paddle for manual use in sweeping the refuse off pavements and the like into the scoop. The scoop has an additional handle (20) rigidly attached thereto. <IMAGE>
