Abstract

Animal foodstuff blocks or cakes are prepared by adding to the constituents of the foodstuffs a urea- formaldehyde condensate binder and a catalyst for polymerising the binder, and allowing the resultant mixture to set in a mould. Hard weather-resistant blocks are formed at ambient conditions. The binder may constitute 5-25 wt% of the mixture and the catalyst may be a concentrated inorganic acid or salt solution (e.g. H2SO4, H3PO4, NH4Cl).
