Abstract

1468173 Hydraulic systems for vehicles CAM GEARS Ltd 19 March 1974 [13 April 1973] 17829/73 Heading B7H An hydraulic system having a fluid pressure source 1 supplying a first sub-system, such as a power steering system, and a second sub-system, such a brake system, the first sub-system making substantially continuous demand and the second intermittent demand, a first valve 25 for supplying the first system and a second valve 24 for directing fluid to an accumulator 21 of the second system. Fluid from pump 1 passes across orifice 25A of spool 25 and through bores 25B, 9B, 9A to line 9 of a power steering system. Fluid flows from chamber 24C via grooves 22C, 24K to the accumulator line 28A until accumulator pressure in line 21A moves spool 24 to the right. With grooves 22C, 24K disconnected and spool 25 urged to the left by flow across 25A, fluid is spilled to reservoir 20 via grooves 22C, 24J and line 27.
