Abstract

1321269 Treating golf ball cores BRUNSWICK CORP 19 Oct 1970 [22 Oct 1969] 49486/70 Heading A6D A layer 14 of polyurethane latex is applied, e.g. by brushing, dipping or spraying, onto a wound core 12 of a golf ball and allowed to coalesce and become non-tacky, the layer 14 being sufficient to prevent subsequent breakage of the threads of the core 12 during the application of a cover member 16. The core may include a liquid centre 10 which may be frozen prior to winding a rubber thread 12 under tension therearound. The thread may be cut from a rubber sheet. The cover 16 may be applied as in Specification 1321270.
