Abstract
1370840 Reciprocating pumps and motors; compressors SULZER BROS Ltd 6 July 1972 [7 July 1971] 31755/72 Headings F1A F1M and F1N A piston machine for use as a hydraulic pump or motor, compressor or gaseous-fluid motor comprises pistons 115 reciprocable in a cylinder block 116 rotatable via port-spherical bearing surfaces on a journal 100, piston end faces 125 being slidable on flat faces 126 formed in a drum 120 rotatable about an axis B spaced from the journal axis A. The journal 100 has fluid inlet and outlet ports 110, 111. Drum 120 is connected to a drive-shaft 121 and supported by a bearing 123 on a member 122, which has a flange 124 for holding the pistons in engagement with the drum. The pistons have hydrostatic bearing recesses supplied with working liquid, hydrostatic bearings also being provided for the drum bearing 123 and the drive-shaft bearing. The journal 100 is mounted on a member 102 which is manually displaceable for varying the eccentricity, and hence the capacity and flow direction. The cylinder block is in two parts held together by rings 118. The displaceable member 102 has sliding connections 113 for the input and output flows.
