Abstract
1369610 Mining conveyers COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd 10 Nov 1972 [31 Dec 1971] 60944/71 Addition to 1232182 Heading B8A [Also in Division E1] The goaf-packing assembly of referred to Specification 1,232,182 is modified by providing the deflector 2, that is movable to and fro along the conveyer 1 for diverting debris from the conveyer and packing the debris where desired in a mine working, with a conveyer-contacting wiper 20 that is mounted on the deflector for movement, preferably vertically, relative to the deflector. Other vertically movable conveyer-contacting wipers may be mounted within the body of the deflector 2 and on a fixed deflector at the discharge end of the conveyer. The conveyer, which is mounted on skids 5, has debris-carrying slats connected between parallel endless driven chains, the slats being either hollow and wedge shaped in a vertical plane parallel to the longitudinal centre axis of the conveyer or have stepped sides and are bolted to cross-bars secured between the driven chains. Both forms of slats ensure that the conveying surface of the conveyer is substantially continuous whilst allowing of satisfactory passage of the slots around the drive and idler sprockets of the conveyer.
