GUGELOT DESIGN GmbH 17 Dec 1971 [21 Dec 1970] 58739/71 Heading A4C [Also in Divisions A2 and B2] A mill comprises a rotatable cutting disc 2 mounted on a vertical axis and co-operating with a fixed cutting plate 1, Fig. 1. The disc 2 includes a funnel-shaped charging opening 3 opening into a conically-shaped charging space 4. Cutting knives 6a Fig. 2, guide material to cutting teeth or blades 8 on the fixed plate 1, Fig. 4. These are tangential to an inner circle 9 and co-operate with teeth or blades 6, 7 on the rotatable disc. Teeth 8, 8a Fig. 3 of different size arranged on opposite sides of the plate, which can then be reversed to give a product having a different grain size. Comminuted material is discharged via openings 5, Fig.1 in the plate 1 into a receiving container. To prevent material escaping during comminution the spaces 10, 11 between the blades of the disc and plate are of a depth which decreases in the radially-outward direction. The cross-sectional area of these spaces is either constant or slightly decreasing when measured in the radiallyoutwards direction.
