Abstract
1343013 Cast-iron; heat-treatment VSESOJUZNY NAUCHNO-ISSLEDOVATELSKY I PROEKTNO-TEKHNOLOGICHESKY INSTITUT UGOLNOGO MASHINOSTROENIA 18 Jan 1972 2430/72 Heading C7A A wear-resistant cast iron comprises, in weight per cent:- the balance being iron, and incidental impurities, e.g. up to 0À08% sulphur, and up to 0À1% phosphorus. After pouring molten iron of the above composition into moulds, the iron is cooled down to 1150-1200‹C. at a rate of at least 3 degrees/ minute, and the castings are then heat-treated at 820-1100‹C., and after maintaining this temperature for a period, the castings are cooled to 650-780‹C., maintained at this temperature for 2 hours or more, and cooled again to 400- 450‹C. at a rate of not less than 0À666 degrees/ minute.
