Abstract
1278098 Tunnels &c SPRIBAG AG 19 Sept 1969 [26 Sept 1968] 46338/69 Heading E1F A gutter for draining tunnels comprises a strip 2 having at least one reinforcement 1 allowing the gutter to be deformed to take up irregularities in the tunnel wall while maintaining the cross sectional shape unchanged. The reinforcement is polyvinyl chloride covered steel wire and is welded or bonded to the sheet which is also polyvinylchloride. A single zig-zag wire or a number of transversely extending wires may be used. A flexible marginal strip 3 serves for securing the gutter to a tunnel wall. In use, a rapid hardening sealing layer is applied to the wall to close up the smaller leaks. The gutter is secured to the sealing layer over the larger leaks by an adhesive or bonding agent and leads to a drainage canal on the tunnel floor. After draining, a further cement or mortar layer is applied to embed and cover the gutter.
