Fungal diseases in potatoes are controlled by treating the tubers with an alkyl amine or salt thereof, to kill or inhibit fungal growth. The amine or salt thereof may be applied in a solid, liquid or gaseous phase. The preferred treatment is the use of gaseous secondarybutyl amine.
