Abstract

1,261,998. Ducted propeller. HYDROCONIC Ltd. 23 Sept., 1970 [13 Oct., 1969], No. 50217/69. Heading B7V. A ship's ducted propeller system having propeller 11 working inside fixed nozzle 12 and rudder blades 13 disposed on both sides of the central, vertical fore-and-aft plane of the nozzle is characterized in that the toeing angle of each rudder blade 13 is different at different positions up its height to match the differing flow conditions at different regions of the nozzle entry. The different toeing angles are achieved by continuously twisted rudders or by rudders divided into two.
