Abstract

1,240,029. Presser foot. SINGER CO. 8 Aug., 1969 [14 Aug., 1968], No. 39773/69. Heading D1G. A presser foot for a sewing machine having a presser bar comprises a shank 21 detatchably connectable to the presser bar and a sole plate 22 releasably securable to the shank by means comprising a pair of ears 23 protruding upwardly from the sole plate and a cylindrical pivot pin 24 carried in and extending traversely between the ears, the shank having a downwardly open pivot pin accommodating socket formed with a constricted mouth presenting an opening smaller than the diameter of the pin, the shank being formed with an elongated slot 32 extending from the socket lengthwise of the shank. Two sole plates are shown, the plate 22' being adapted for sewing loose zig-zag stitches over the edge of a fabric piece.
