Abstract
1,113,399. Seals. PICO CRYOGENIC PRODUCTS CORPORATION. 16 July, 1965 [27 July, 1964], No. 30398/65. Heading F2B. [Also in Division F1] In a reciprocating pump for cryogenic fluids (see Division F1) leakage of oil along the pump rod (28), Fig. 1 (not shown), is prevented by a flexible bellows 55 comprising radially extending annular walls 60 interconnected by axial walls 61, 62 of greater thickness than the annular walls, one end of the bellows being connected to the pump rod and the other to the pump casing. The bellows, which may be of P.T.F.E., has end flanges 59 clamped by split rings (56) and (58) respectively to a member (46) secured to the pump casing and to a crosshead (30) secured to the end of the pump rod (28).
