Abstract

1,111,175. Hammers. C. KUHBIER. 8 Feb., 1967 [31 March, 1966], No. 5970/67. Heading B4C. A recoil-free hammer having a head comprising two end portions 10, 11 interconnected by an intermediate web portion 2 secured to a handle 9 and a U-section saddle 1 displaceably mounted on the web portion so that it strikes one of the end portions against the action of a spring 4 only after impact of the latter end portion against a workpiece. The saddle 1 is guided on the web 2 by means of a pin 6 passing through a slot 3 in the web; springs 4, 5 are located in the slot. The saddle may be guided on a pin extending longitudinally from one of the end portions.
