Abstract

1,081,624. Pad applicators. CHISWICK PRODUCTS Ltd. March 8, 1966 [March 18, 1965; July 20, 1965], No. 11492/65. Heading A4K. In a pad applicator containing sufficient liquid 26 or flowable solid for single use, the container is flanged so that rubbing pressure may be applied, through the flange to the pad 22, without necessarily squeezing any material out of the container. The cellular structure of the p.v.c. pad 22 is collapsed by heat sealing or welding it, at the margin 20, to the container flange. The container is made of p.v.c. film. Aluminium foil 23 having a heat sealing adhesive coating is also heat sealed at margin 20, leaving a tab 34 for stripping off. In another form, a pierceable impervious film (29) is arranged between the pad and the contents of the container. The impervious film (29) and pad 22 may alternatively have central holes (35, 36). The container may be formed with two external lobes (32) to fit between the fingers of a hand (Fig. 7, not shown).
