Abstract
1,062,008. Thermionic cathode constructions. LEYBOLD HOLDING A.G. July 15, 1965 [Aug. 18, 1964], No. 30185/65. Heading H1D. A thermionic cathode includes a filament coil 3 (Figs. 1 and 2, not shown) extending between two coaxial cylindrical supports (1), each of which has a projecting, tapered pin portion (2), of a diameter equal to or slightly less than that of the inner diameter of the coil, and a flat (6), the end of the coil fitting over the pin, and a straight end portion (4) of the coil wire being welded, clamped, or screwed to the flat (6). The use of the cathode structure in manometers and mass spectrometers is referred to.
