Abstract
Mejoras introducidas en el objeto de la patente principal nº 388.474 concedida el 1 de marzo de 1973 por Procedimiento para la separación de mercurio de la salmuera residual que contiene cloro procedente de una célula de mercurio, que comprende añadir iones sulfuro o hidrosulfuro a la salmuera en una cantidad suficiente para producir un potencial redox de la salmuera , con respecto a un electro de KCL-calomenanos saturado, de un valor más negativo, que -0,45 voltios, con lo cual se precipita sulfuro de mercurio, y separar el sulfuro de mercurio precipitado pasando la salmuera hacia abajo a través de un filtro que comprende por los menos dos capas directamente superpuestas de material filtrante granular, disminuyendo el tamaño medios de la partículas de material granular en las capas superpuestas sucesivas e incrementando la densidad específica del material granular desde la parte superior del filtro hacia abajo, caracterizadas porque comprenden separar el sulfuro de mercurio precipitado delfiltro mediante y tratamiento de este último con un licor que disuelve al sulfuro de mercurio, y extraer el licor rico en mercurio así obtenido.
