Hierbei werden Schmutzteilchen, die sich vor der Dichtfuge angesammelt haben, bei Unterdruck durch die Dichtfuge in den Lagerraum gezogen, so daß die Lagerteile schnell verschleißen. Außerdem wölbt sich der Dichtungsring beim "Atmen" nach außen und nach innen, so daß die Dichtkante bei einer zylindrischen Auflagefläche abwechselnd auf einem sauberen und einem verschmutzten Abschnitt der Mantelfäche gleitet. Die Spitze des Vorsprungs 12 weist nur eine kleine Fläche 13 auf, so daß sich im Bereich der Mündung 14 praktisch keine Staubteilchen ablagern können, die bei Unterdruck in den Raum 4 gesaugt werden.
