Abstract

A head harness for a horse has a top piece (10) comprising two leather straps (11) sewn one on top of the other and with padding (18) on the underside. The top piece is fitted over the top of the head and has one edge chamfered around the ears. The ends of the straps are free and are each split into two straps with punched holes to attach the remainder of the harness. The split for each strap is terminated in a punched hole to prevent tearing of the main strap.

Aufgrund der somit vermiedenen Relativbeweglichkeit des Reithalfters gegenüber dem Kopfstück mit angeschlossenem Gebiß ergibt sich in vorteilhafter Weise auch eine gleichmäßige Druckverteilung auf einer breitestmöglichen Fläche im Genick des Pferdes. Ein weiterer Vorteil besteht neben dem verrutschfreien Sitz der einzelnen Bauteile des Zaum in einer gleichmäßig durchgängigen Stabilität des Zaumes und in der sich daraus ergebenden gleichmäßigen Optik des an einem Pferdekopf angelegten Zaums. Das aus Figur 1 ersichtliche Kopfstück 10 ist aus zwei übereinander gelegten, vorzugsweise aus Leder bestehenden einzelnen Riemen 11 aufgebaut, die eine gleiche Breite aufweisen und mittels einer insbesondere aus Figur 3 besser ersichtlichen Naht 12 miteinander vernäht sind.
