STATE OF THE ART

Computer workstations in the usual appearance mainly consist of either

- a standard office desk, which may have an integrated cable duct, on which are usually freely positioned computer, monitor (screen), keyboard, mouse and possibly printer and/or scanner,

- specially designed individual pieces of furniture available on the market, such as so-called PC tables, printer tables and trolleys, which accommodate the electronic work tools and devices.

The electronic tools and devices located on the furniture mentioned, which are generally available as commercially available products, are usually only switched on or off by the users as needed, which can also give unauthorized persons access to the devices. The so-called intellectual access to the devices by the users is often made possible by the assignment of passwords, which, however, does not represent an almost absolute security factor, e.g. in terms of data protection and confidentiality.

If more or more space is required on the desk work surfaces, the devices may have to be moved to the side or stowed away, which usually has an additional disadvantageous effect on the room itself.

PROBLEM

The invention specified in claim 1 is based on the problem of creating a workstation in compact desk form, which can be used both as a desk with a completely available work surface and as a screen workstation with the primary functions of writing and/or drawing, printing and/or scanning, whereby physical and mental access is reserved for reasons of data protection and confidentiality either to a single authorized person or to an authorized group of people through the central locking of the workstation.

SOLUTION

This problem is solved with the features specified in claim 1.

The invention ensures that the centrally locking screen compact workstation

- Physical and mental access is hardly possible for unauthorized persons,

- can be used for both word processing and graphic planning (architecture, engineering, graphics, etc.),

- provides a visually appealing appearance both in the so-called resting state and in the state of use

FURTHER POSSIBLE DESIGNS OF THE INVENTION

An advantageous variant of the invention is set out in claim 2. This describes the possibility of designing the compact screen workstation in such a way that commercially available electronic work equipment can be installed, which can have a cost-effective effect, for example.

Claim 3 specifies a further advantageous embodiment of the invention.

All current-carrying supply lines which are necessary for the function of the invention specified in claims 1 and 2 are accommodated in an integrated cable duct, which can be guided over the entire length of the workstation in order to connect the extension modules specified below in claim 4, if these are equipped with current-dependent electronic work equipment.

An additional advantageous embodiment of the invention is set out in claim 4.

The side ends of the compact screen workstation consist, in addition to the edge of the workstation, of a large table leg, which is designed like a rectangular empty tube in order to accommodate additional cables and supply lines if required, and also to give the workstation support and stability. The distance between the table legs from outer edge to outer edge is identical to the length of the workstation in order to be able to connect extension modules with the same design features if necessary. The main fastening between two modules is preferably carried out using a type of screw-tab system, which is mounted invisibly in the area below the work surfaces and is designed in such a way that it is easy to handle when assembling or disassembling the modules and damage to parts and devices can be avoided as far as possible.

Claims (4)

1. Centrally locking screen compact workstation for accommodating electronic work equipment (e.g. computers, printers, etc.), where these are stored out of sight for the user or viewer when not needed, but are immediately ready for use when needed, whereby - the workstation can be locked and unlocked using either a mechanical lock, a numeric keypad, a magnetic card or a remote control, - the availability and operability of the electronic work equipment can be activated via a so-called menu bar after unlocking the workstation, - the menu bar is preferably located at the front near the end edge of the workstation (i.e. facing the user) and is protected from accidental contact with the electronics by a hinged cover, for example, even when the workstation is unlocked, - the central locking device and the menu bar are preferably located on the same level, - the work surface of the workplace is completely level when the flat screen is folded down, - the computer and the keyboard are connected to the flat screen, e.g. as with a standard laptop (notebook), and when the workstation is unlocked, the keyboard is at workstation height to allow freedom of hand and arm while working, - printers and/or scanners are installed below the work surface, preferably using an extendable rail system, so that unhindered removal or loading, e.g. of paper, is possible after unlocking the workstation, - whose electronic work equipment is designed and installed in such a way that it can be removed and/or replaced if malfunctions or defects occur. 2. Centrally locking compact VDU workstation according to claim 1, the built-in electronic work equipment of which is available as commercially available products. 3. Centrally locking compact screen workstation according to claims 1 and 2, whose built-in electronic work equipment is connected or networkable with one another via cables located in the integrated cable duct. 4. Centrally locking compact screen workstation according to claims 1, 2 and 3, the end edges of which are designed in such a way that extension modules with the same design features as stated in claims 1, 2 and 3 can be mounted on them.
