Abstract

The table is assembled of a tabletop (1) a matching base (1) and four glass bottles (2), used as legs. A threaded bar (4) is guided through the base (1) and through a hole in the bottom of the bottles (2) into an opening at the lower side of the tabletop (1). A nut (7) inserted into a circular recess at the lower surface of the base (1) secures the connection between base (1) and bar (4). The upper end of the bar (4) is guided through a circular plate (9) and secured with a nut (8) from above. Two bolts (10) are screwed into the plate (9) from below joining it to the tabletop (1) and creating an additional connection. The design can also be used for a shelving system.

Furniture with feet, supports or spacers made of bottles

The invention relates to a piece of furniture with feet, supports or spacers according to the preamble of claim 1.

It is common to manufacture tables, shelves, side tables, chairs, etc. from different materials, for example a combination of wood, metal and/or glass. For example, table tops or shelves made of glass can be combined with table legs or shelf supports made of wood or metal. In the furniture industry in particular, there is a constant need to differentiate oneself from competitors' products in terms of design on the one hand and the functionality and technical advantages of the products on the other.

The invention is therefore based on the object of creating a piece of furniture of the type mentioned at the beginning, which offers new design possibilities and, in addition,

In addition to being highly functional, it is also easy and cost-effective to produce.

This object is achieved according to the invention by the features of claim 1. Advantageous embodiments are described in the further claims.

In the furniture according to the invention, the feet, supports or spacers are made of bottles, in particular glass or plastic bottles. According to the invention, bottles are thus given a completely new purpose and used as a carrier material for solid materials such as shelves, table legs, chair backs, chair legs, etc.

The inventive combination of bottles and other furniture parts opens up new design possibilities. In addition, bottles have technical advantages. For example, bottles are weatherproof. Bottle furniture is also very easy to maintain, as it can be cleaned simply by wiping. The furniture can be manufactured in a very simple and inexpensive way, as the production of bottles is very inexpensive and no surface treatment such as varnishing, oiling or waxing is required.

According to an advantageous embodiment, the bottles are attached to the plate element by means of a mechanical connection device which has a pull rod which passes through the bottle neck opening and through a hole in the bottle base, which is attached to the plate element and with which the plate element can be pulled against the bottle. Such a connection is very stable and easy to produce.

A plurality of bottles are expediently arranged between two parallel plate elements. The two plate elements can have the same or different sizes and shapes. It is also possible to attach only a small disc to one side of the bottle, which does not protrude or only protrudes slightly beyond the outer circumference of the bottle, in order to be able to attach the pull rod to this end of the bottle. It is also possible to arrange the plate elements not parallel but at a certain angle to each other.

According to an advantageous embodiment, at least three plate elements are arranged one above the other like a shelf, with bottles arranged as supports between every two plate elements. The bottles can also be arranged like a table foot or chair leg underneath a plate element.

According to an advantageous embodiment, the bottles are filled with colored material or decorative objects, for example colored sand, artificial plants, etc. Furthermore, lighting devices can also be provided inside the bottles. This allows very attractive optical effects to be achieved.

Figures 1 to 4 schematically show a piece of furniture in the form of a side table, which has two parallel, spaced-apart plate elements 1 made of any material, for example wood, glass, plastic.

material, stone, etc. Between the two plate elements 1, in the corner areas, four bottles 2 consisting of glass bottles are arranged standing and serve as vertical supports or table legs. The bottles 2 thus stand with their base 3 on the lower plate element 1, while the upper plate element 1 rests on the upper end of the bottles 2, i.e., where the normal pouring opening of the bottle 2 is located.

The two plate elements 1 are attached to the bottles 2 by means of a mechanical connecting device which is shown in Figures 5 and 6. This connecting device has a pull rod 4 which has a thread 5 at both ends. This pull rod 4 is slightly longer than the bottle 2 and is inserted into the middle of the bottle 2. The bottles 2 also have a central hole in their base 3 through which the pull rod 4 is guided. The lower plate element 1 has a through hole aligned with the central axis of the bottle 2 so that the pull rod 4 can be guided through this through hole until its lower end is located near the underside of the lower plate element 1.

On the underside of the lower plate element 1, in the area of this through hole, a countersunk hole of larger diameter is made so that a centrally perforated washer 6 of larger diameter and then a nut 7 can be inserted into this countersunk hole so that the nut 7 does not protrude downwards beyond the plate element 1. The nut 7 can be screwed onto the lower thread 5 of the pull rod 4.

Before screwing the nut 7 onto the pull rod 4, the upper end of the pull rod 4 is fastened to the upper plate element 1. This is done by making a countersunk or blind hole with a stepped diameter on the underside of the upper plate element 1, into which an upper nut 8 and then a fastening disc 9 of larger diameter can be inserted. In the embodiment shown, the underside of the fastening disc 9 is aligned with the underside of the upper plate element 1. In this position, the fastening disc 9 can be screwed onto the upper plate element 1 from below using screws 10. In the embodiment shown, three fastening screws 10 are provided, which can be inserted through corresponding holes 11 in the fastening disc 9. The upper end of the pull rod 4 can now be passed through a corresponding central hole 12 in the fastening disc 9 and screwed into the upper nut 8. The fastening disc 9 and the nut 8 thus act as a tie rod to which the upper end of the pull rod
4 can be anchored to the upper plate element 1.

After the pull rod 4 has been anchored to the upper plate element 1 in this way, the bottle 2 is aligned centrally to the pull rod 4, the washer ^6 is placed on the lower end of the pull rod 4 and then the lower nut 7 is screwed onto the lower thread 5 until the two plate elements 1 are pulled towards each other with the desired force so that the associated bottle 2 is clamped accordingly between these plate elements 1.

Figures 7 and 8 show a further embodiment of the furniture according to the invention in the form of a serving trolley with three plate elements 1 arranged one above the other. In this embodiment, two layers of bottles 2 are arranged one above the other in alignment, with the middle plate element 1 lying between the two layers. In this case, it is possible to use a single, continuous pull rod 4 for each two bottles 2 arranged one above the other, which is anchored with its upper end to the uppermost plate element 1 in the manner described and holds the entire shelf together by screwing the lower nut 7 onto the lower end of the pull rod 4. In this case, it would only be necessary to provide a through hole for a pull rod 4 in the middle plate element 1.

Alternatively, however, it is easily possible to provide a separate fastening device for each "level" as shown in Figures 5 and 6. In this case, the individual plate elements 1 or bottles 2 are assembled level by level from top to bottom.

Figures 9 and 10 show a further example of the furniture according to the invention in the form of a four-tier shelf. There are thus five parallel plate elements 1 arranged one above the other at a distance, which are each separated from one another by a layer of bottles 2 and are thus kept at the desired distance from one another. 1. Furniture with feet, supports or spacers, characterized in that the feet, supports or spacers consist of bottles ( 2 ). 2. Furniture according to claim 1, characterized in that the furniture has at least one plate element ( 1 ) to which the bottles ( 2 ) are attached. 3. Furniture according to claim 2, characterized in that the bottles ( 2 ) are fastened to the plate element ( 1 ) by means of a mechanical connecting device which has a pull rod ( 4 ) which passes through the bottle neck opening and through a hole in the bottle bottom, which is fastened to the plate element ( 1 ) and with which the plate element ( 1 ) can be pulled against the bottle ( 2 ). 4. Furniture according to claim 2 or 3, characterized in that the bottles ( 2 ) are aligned perpendicular to the main plane of the plate element ( 1 ). 5. Furniture according to one of claims 2 to 4, characterized in that a plurality of bottles ( 2 ) are arranged between two parallel plate elements ( 1 ). 6. Furniture according to one of claims 2 to 4, characterized in that at least three plate elements ( 1 ) are arranged one above the other like a shelf and bottles ( 2 ) are arranged as supports between each two plate elements ( 1 ). 7. Furniture according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the bottles ( 2 ) are arranged like a table base below a plate element ( 1 ). 8. Furniture according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the bottles ( 2 ) are filled with colored material or decorative objects. 9.
