The invention relates to a lighting device with a base and a housing arranged on the base, wherein the housing accommodates the lighting means.

A lighting device of the type mentioned above is known, for example, as a "low-voltage lamp". A reflector is provided here, the reflector having a base, in particular a plug-in base, with the light source, namely the lamp, being arranged in the area of the base. Such low-voltage lamps offer an excellent power output in relation to the power consumption; they are also durable, which is why these lamps have become widely used.

The invention is based on the object of creating a lighting device of the type mentioned at the beginning, which is energy-saving, inexpensive to manufacture and has a long service life.

A lighting device of the type mentioned above that meets these requirements is characterized by several light-emitting diodes (LEDs) arranged on a circuit board, with the circuit board being electrically connected to the base. Such light-emitting diodes are extremely inexpensive to manufacture, have an immensely long service life of up to 100,000 operating hours and are also very energy-efficient. The light output of such a lighting device with several light-emitting diodes is somewhat lower than that of a low-voltage lamp, but the heating is also significantly lower, which is why such lamps are preferably used for interior lighting of display cases. Due to the low power consumption and long service life, such lighting devices are also suitable for the permanent marking of emergency routes in buildings.

In particular, the housing is provided with a reflector screen to increase the light output. The base itself can be designed as a screw, plug or bayonet base and can therefore be adapted to any existing socket. The base itself contains the

The lighting device, designated as a whole by 1, has the base 2 and the reflector screen 3. A circuit board 4 or circuit board, which accommodates the light-emitting diodes 5, is accommodated by the reflector screen 3. The light-emitting diodes are connected to a device 7 for supplying energy to the light-emitting diodes, with the energy supply device being arranged in the base. Lighting device with a base and a housing arranged on the base, wherein the housing accommodates the lighting means, characterized by a plurality of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) ( 5 ) arranged on a circuit board ( 4 ), wherein the circuit board ( 4 ) is in electrical connection with the base ( 2 ). 2. Lighting device according to claim 1, characterized in that the housing has a reflector screen ( 3 ). 3. Lighting device according to claim 1, characterized in that the base ( 2 ) is designed as a screw, plug or bayonet base. 4. Lighting device according to claim 1, characterized in that the base ( 2 ) has a device ( 7 ) for the energy supply.
