Abstract
Patente de Invenção para <B>"PROCESSO E APARELHO PARA FORMAçãO DE SìLICA POR COMBUSTãO DE REAGENTES LìQUIDOS USANDO UM AQUECEDOR"<D>. A presente invenção é dirigida a um processo para produção de vidro de sílica e pré-formas de vidro de sílica. Um líquido, preferivelmente composto contendo silício livre de haleto, capaz de ser convertido por decomposição oxidativa térmica em SiO~ 2~, é provido e introduzido diretamente na chama de um queimador de combustão, que converte o composto em sílica, formando, desse modo, fuligem amorfa finamente dividida. A fuligem é vaporizada próximo ao local onde o líquido é convertido em vidro de sílica por atomização do líquido, preferivelmente com uma corrente de gás de atomização. Um aquecedor próximo à face do queimador e ao redor da chama do queimador, aumenta a taxa de captura de fuligem e permite uma redução da velocidade do gás de atomização. A fuligem amorfa é depositada em uma superfície receptora onde, ou substancialmente simultaneamente com ou subseq³entemente a sua deposição, a fuligem é consolidada em um corpo de vidro de sílica fundida.
