Abstract
COMPOSIçãO DE FERRO CINZENTO E COMPONENTES DE FREIO FORMADOS A PARTIR DA MESMA. Composições de ferro cinzento aperfeiçoadas compreendendo pelo menos em torno de 90% em peso de ferro, pelo menos em torno de 3,40% em peso de carbono, de em torno de 1 a 2,5% em peso de silício, de em torno de 0,4 a 1,0% em peso de manganês, e de em torno de 0,02 a 0,07% em peso de estanho. Preferencialmente, as composições de ferro cinzento da invenção incluem também de em torno 0,2 a em torno 0,5% em peso de cromo, de podem incluir ainda preferencialmente de em torno 0,25 a 0,75% em peso de molibdênio e/ou de em torno 0,3 a 1,0% em peso de cobre, e podem incluir ainda opcionalmente pequenas quantidades (menos do que em torno 1 porcento) de tais elementos como o titânio ou vanádio, como exemplos. As composições de ferro cinzento podem ser utilizadas de maneira vantajosa na fabricação de componentes de freio de veículo, especialmente as superfícies de frenagem dos tambores (10) de freio de veículo ou rotores do freio.
