Abstract

A gas actuator assembly for supplying a compressed gas to a container. The assembly includes a self-contained supply of compressed gas, preferably in the form of a cartridge (9) of compressed gas which is transmitted through a tube (15) to below the level of a liquid contained in a vessel such as a wine bottle or into a resealable container such as for the storage of food, an evacuation tube (18) that is provided to remove air from the vessel and an activating device (4, 5) for simultaneously activating the flow of compressed gas and the evacuation of air.
