Abstract
Se describe un procedimiento para reducir oxidos de nitrogeno de los gases de desecho de un horno de coque que comprende una pluralidad de cámaras de coquizacion y paredes de calefaccion dispuestas entre dichas cámaras de coquizacion y provistas con canales de calefaccion (12, 12') para el calentamiento indirecto de las cámaras de coquizacion. Un gas combustible (16), el cual consiste completa o parcialmente de gas de horno de coque, es quemado en los canales de calefaccion (12, 12') generando un gas de desecho que contiene oxidos de nitrogeno. Se suministra un agente reductor a los gases de desecho que se encuentran a una temperatura comprendida entre 700°C y 1100°C y el contenido de oxidos de nitrogeno del gas de desecho es reducido por una reaccion homogénea en fase gaseosa entre el agente reductor y los oxidos de nitrogeno. El gas de desecho es a continuacion conducido a través de un regenerador (4) para la recuperacion de calor. Más aun, los dépositos de carbon que se depositan en las partes calientes de la disposicion de suministro de gas combustible son eliminados por combustion con aire de descarbonizacion (21), siendo el aire de descarbonizacion (21) inyectado durante un ciclo de alternancia del regenerador, durante el cual es cerrado el suministro de gas combustible al canal de calefaccion (12'), a este canal de calefaccion (12') a través del conducto asociado de suministro de quemador y tobera de gas combustible (15'), y removido juntamente con el gas caliente de desecho proveniente de otro canal de calefaccion (12). De acuerdo con la invencion el agente reductor es anadido al aire de descarbonizacion y, junto con éste, puesto en contacto con el gas caliente de desecho.
