Abstract

Métodos para mejorar la resistencia a la absorcion de fumigantes en recipientes de productos fabricados a partir de partículas de poliestireno expansible en un procedimiento de fumigacion y recipientes para productos relacionados. Una forma de realizacion comprende pre-expandir las partículas de poliestireno expansible para formar partículas pre-expandidas: aplicar un recubrimiento constituido por un producto químico seleccionado entre el grupo que consiste en aceite mineral, cera de polietileno, copolímero e etileno-alcohol vinílico y polietilenglicol a las partículas pre-expandidas y en una cantidad de 0,05 a 5,0 partes por cien; y formar el recipiente a partir de las partículas pre-expandidas. Una forma de realizacion adicional comprende aplicar el recubrimiento del producto químico a las partículas expansibles; pre-expandir las partículas de poliestireno expansible para formar las partículas pre-expandidas y formar los recipientes a partir de las partículas pre- expandidas. Otros métodos comprenden aumentar el tamano de las celdas de las partículas expansibles usadas para formar el recipiente para el producto.
