Abstract
Método para procesar un material mineral aurífero que contiene un mineral sulfurado con el cual el oro se encuentra asociado y que sería deseableconcentrar para facilitar la posible recuperación subsiguiente del oro a partir del material sulfurado,que comprende los pasos de: a) proveer un materialde mineral aurífero particulado que comprende oro y un mineral sulfurado al cual dicho oro se encuentra asociado y a partir del cual dicho oro puede serdifícil de recuperar, comprendiendo tambiéndicho material mineral un material no-sulfurado como ganga; b) someter a dicho material mineral a flotación, quecomprende el tratamiento de una lechada líquida de dicho material mineral con un gas de flotación para separar dicho material mineralen por lo menos dosfracciones, siendo una primera fracción un concentrado de flotación enriquecido en dicho mineral sulfurado y una segunda fracción consistente en una cola deflotación enriquecida en dicho material no-sulfurado; comprendiendo dicho gas de flotación gas oxígeno, si lo hubiera, en una fracción volumétrica que esinferior a la fracción volumétrica de gas oxígeno en el aire ambiente, para reducir los problemas que se producirían con el aire como gas de flotación.
