Abstract
Se desvelan diversos métodos y aparatos para codificar una imagen. En algunas realizaciones el método comprende obtener una banda que comprende un bit de magnitud de dos o más coeficientes, perteneciendo cada bit de magnitud al mismo plano de bits. Los coeficientes representan una imagen o una parte de la imagen. El método comprende adicionalmente obtener el estado de significancia de dichos coeficientes y el estado de significancia de coeficientes vecinos a dichos dos o más coeficientes en el plano de bits actual; obtener el estado de significancia de dichos coeficientes y el estado de significancia de coeficientes vecinos a los dichos dos o más coeficientes en un plano de bits por encima del plano de bits actual; obtener el estado de significancia de dichos coeficientes en dos planos de bits por encima del plano de bits actual; obtener una matriz de contexto de estado de propagación de significancia que comprende la propagación de significancia de dichos coeficientes y el estado de significancia de coeficientes vecinos a los dichos dos o más coeficientes en el plano de bits actual; y usar al menos una de dichas matrices para construir una etiqueta de contexto para cada uno de dichos dos o más bits de magnitud en paralelo asignando una etiqueta de contexto seleccionada a partir de un conjunto de etiquetas de contexto.
