Abstract

La presente invención se relaciona con una composición formadora de capa aislante que contiene un aglutinante basado en un polímero con funcionalidad alcoxisilano portando grupos de silano con funcionalidad alcoxi, un aditivo formador de capa aislante y opcionalmente un agente de reticulación. La composición reivindicada, que tiene una tasa de expansión relativamente alta, hace posible la aplicación de capas en forma simple y rápida que tienen el grosor de capa necesario para el tiempo de resistencia al fuego particular, el grosor de capa siendo reducido a un mínimo y, no obstante, logrando un efecto aislante importante. La composición reivindicada es particularmente apropiada para la protección contra fuego, en particular como recubrimiento de componentes de acero como soportes, vigas y barras de entramado, para incrementar el tiempo de resistencia al fuego.
