Abstract
La presente invencion se dirige a resolver los problemas asociados con la deteccion de defectos de la superficie en barras metalicas asi como los problemas asociados con la aplicacion de sistemas de inspeccion de superficies metalicas a barras metalicas para la deteccion de defectos en superficie no destructivos. Un sistema de formacion de imagenes especialmente designado, que esta comprendido de una unidad de computo, luces en linea y camaras de escaneo en linea de alta proporcion de datos, se desarrolla para el proposito anteriormente mencionado. La aplicacion blanco es las barras metalicas que tienen una proporcion de area transversal/circunferencia igual a o menor que 4.25 cuando el area de seccion transversal es unitaria para la forma dada, cuyas secciones transversales son redondas, ovaladas o en la forma de un poligono y se fabrican mediante procesos de reduccion mecanicamente transversales. Dicho metal puede ser acero, acero inoxidable, aluminio, cobre, bronce, titanio, niquel y asi sucesivamente y/o sus aleaciones. Dichas barras metalicas pueden estar en la temperatura cuando estan siendo fabricadas. Una cinta removible incluye varios espejos. Un tubo protector aisla el movimiento de la barra metalica del ensamble de luz en linea y la camara de adquisicion de imagenes. Un mecanismo de reduccion de contaminantes aplica un vacio para remover los contaminantes portados en el aire.
