L. T. Meade

Elizabeth Thomasina Meade Smith.

L. T. Meade was the pseudonym of Elizabeth Thomasina Meade Smith (1844–1914), a prolific Irish writer. She has more than 300 books to her credit, including numerous mystery novels and stories. Her Sorceress of the Strand stories, co-written with her frequent collaborator Robert Eustace (the pen-name of Dr. Eustace Robert Barton, 1854-1943), feature a memorable female villain, Madame Sara. L. T. Meade was also the author of numerous children's books, including her well-known A World of Girls (1886), and was the editor of the popular girls' magazine Atalanta.
