The Haunting Of Kurumi Mori

Our team's entry for the 2025 Spooktober Visual Novel Jam!

Kurumi Mori has, for her entire life, been able to see 'Echoes'- The ghosts of people who once existed in another timeline. Despite her parents' disapproval, she uses this ability to help those lost souls move on and stop lingering in the memories of the world. But everything in Kurumi's life will change when she meets a hostile Echo for the first time, forcing certain things to become undeniable.

The Haunting Of Kurumi Mori is an approximately 15,000 word visual novel produced between 09/01/2026 and 09/29/2026 by a small team, featuring Nico H, PrinxeCatqueer, Chaotic_ERROR, TollingBells, and beta testing by Quartoch. In addition to the majority of original assets, two royalty-free music tracks and Wattson's kinetic text tags + wave shader asset packs were used. As these have been freely available for any participant in the jam, their use is within the rules.

This game is spooky, modern-fantasy slice of life with an Act III turn towards mild horror.
