Back in 2022, Jeezy (formerly known as Young Jeezy) and DJ Drama teamed up for SNOFALL, a tape that seemed to suggest that no matter how much Atlanta’s rap scene shifted, the trap legend remained at its centre. This notion was true. As the city morphed thanks to pioneering sounds from Young Thug, Future, Lil Baby and Playboi Carti, Jeezy still held sway while doubling down on his sound. On 2025’s Still Snowin’, Jeezy and Drama show that just because they’re seasoned veterans doesn’t mean they can’t also switch their style up while exerting that same influence. The title track is a soulful, funk-inspired cut that features synths beamed straight in from Cali’s G-funk heyday. The beat is unlike anything Jeezy has ever rapped over before. “Snowman Party” features a slowed-down drum groove and a sultry horn melody that accents the spitter’s hypnotic chorus. “Bruce Wayne” is perhaps the closest Jeezy gets to mimicking his signature era on the project, but even it wrestles and wiggles away from a strict adherence to his trap roots.
