BIG BUSKIN’

BIG BUSKIN’

Ink

Though relatively new to the scene as a solo artist, Ink has a résumé that would make even a seasoned veteran jealous. Born in Germany and raised in the Atlanta area, Ink has worked as a songwriter and producer for a laundry list of superstars, including Beyoncé, Latto and Kendrick Lamar. On BIG BUSKIN’, Ink shows what she’s capable of as an artist, delivering a dozen tracks that blur the lines between country, pop and R&B. “Blink of an Eye” is rootsy, gauzy pop with warm, rich vocals and complex harmonies, connecting sonically to Ink’s work on COWBOY CARTER. The line-dance-ready “Hoedown” shows Ink’s feisty side with its heavy kick drum and flourishes of fiddle, while songs like “All I Got” and “Sweet Tea” lean into tender narratives. Ink bookends the project with a spoken “Inktro” and “Outro”, injecting more of her big, bold personality into a project with an already strong point of view.
