🏃‍♂️ Chill or hectic play, you decide!

  • Classic craft: Roguelike mode where you must score enough to continue to the next chapters. You win if you beat all 9 levels.
  • Letter rush: Letters are dropped continuously in the cauldron and you must spell words fast enough to avoid overflow. You compete for the high score. Ends we the cauldron is full.

After Dashpong, Hyperslice and many action oriented jam games, I wanted to work on something more chill. I've been thinking about creating a word game for a while, and I'm super happy to explore a new direction with Lexispell. The goal is to make a small and cozy word game that can also be challenging for avid gamers.

I'm making this alone, with help from Trevron for the music, so don't hesitate to share and wishlist Lexispell!

I hope you'll enjoy :) - Eliptik

if we ignore the lack of some words  the game is actually very enjoyable and its always satisfying to spot a long word :)

i found sculpture and manipulator are missing

Thank you! Sometimes there’s a small bug when you already have selected a letter and it merges with another one. This creates a discrepency between what you see and what the game counts. This could explain why scuplture and manipulator didn’t score. I think this is what happened here because both sculpture and manipualtore are valide words.

In any case, don’t hesitate to submit words using the tool in the pause menu.

Oh okay, it makes sense that happened. Also atleast in the web version it didnt let me type in the box for submitting words

For me it’s getting stuck in the browser on the 2nd page (2/2) of the instructions. Once I press NEXT it just seems to freeze and hovering over the button doesn’t animate it any more.

I just downloaded it too and it’s also getting stuck on the “Welcome to the playtest” screen. On closing the window it does come up with the “Thank you for playing” / Quit screen though. Also the animated text is still waving. This is on Linux.

Hope you can track it down, or is it just me?

Hey, thank you for reporting! The bug is fixed in the latest version (0.0.18), let me know if you have any issue

I appreciate all the rules up front.  But also it's too much to read/ learn all at once.  And very busy to look at.

Also, I do not like the fact that I have a time limit for drowning.  I had a perfectly fine word.  But I am not playing this game for a time limit.  It would be fine if I lose if I don't play enough letters that current word.  Also, it would be good to know what that number is.

Thanks for your feedback! I totally agree with the tutorial, I want to rework it.

I also agree with the overflow mechanic, I’m exploring ways to make it not time sensitive.
