A downloadable zine

This printable mini zine is a short personal essay about how my experience of chronic fatigue impacts the dreams I have, and vice versa. The handwritten words are accompanied by hand-drawn and digitised line drawings of Hollow Knight characters.

All the characters shown belong to Team Cherry. This is a piece of fan art and I claim no ownership over the character designs.

The zine is in grayscale and is designed to be printed on one side of A4. When folded, it is A7 size (74x105mm) and has eight pages, including the front and back covers. Follow this folding tutorial by Fi Johnston to turn the printed page into a zine!

An accessible digital version of Dream Energy, including a typed transcript and image descriptions, is available to read on my website.

Double-page spread from the zine. Description below.
Drawings of the Knight lying down and Cloth sleeping. Text says: 'Sometimes in my dreams I'm just as fatigued as I am in my waking hours. I'll be mid-adventure and I'll have to lie down for a rest while the action rages around me.'
Another double-page spread. Description below.
Drawings of the Knight, a giant bee in a rubber ring, Hornet, and Quirrel. Text says: 'I bounce across giant bees as they chill in the river. I race Quirrel through Hallownest, jumping and dashing and zooming with delight.'
A plushie of the Hollow Knight holds a copy of the Dream Energy zine.
Read and approved by the Hollow Knight.
