A group of friends' tropical vacation turns into a terrifying, primal tale of horror and survival.
    DirectorJohannes RobertsStarsJohnny SequoyahJess AlexanderTroy Kotsur
We’re always looking for a new worthy addition to Our Favorite "When Animals Attack" Movies, and Primate earns a spot with its practical effects and creatively gruesome kills, as a pet research chimp comes down with a case of rabies and unleashes hell upon its masters. We had the opportunity to screen this at Fantastic Fest and if the collective shrieks from an audience of horror hounds were any indication, Primate will make for a raucous late-night cinema experience.

Reared on horror and crime classics of the late-20th century, director Ryan Prows (Lowlife) slams his influences together in this wild mashup, as a cop (Justin Long) discovers a deadly secret within a special task force in the LAPD. Drawing on vampire classics The Lost Boys and Near Dark, as well as crime thrillers like Menace II Society and Prince of the City, Night Patrol is a smorgasbord fit for hungry genre fans.

As Spike is inducted into Jimmy Crystal's gang on the mainland, Dr. Kelson makes a discovery that could alter the world.
    DirectorNia DaCostaStarsJack O'ConnellAlfie WilliamsConnor Newall
We're in for rough times on the mainland. The Bone Temple's script seems like it might wrap around from Dr. Kelson's past and put him on a collision course with Spike, who has been inducted into Jimmy Crystal's seriously frightening and acrobatic gang, in the present. We know Cillian Murphy's Jim will appear at the end of the movie to set up the proposed third installment of the trilogy, though Danny Boyle has indicated we'll only get act three if audiences take their places around the bone temple.

He’s at it again, folks. But if you made it through “Monster” and you found your footing with “All’s Fair,” then Ryan Murphy’s latest series might just be for you. Rather than describe its premise, it may be easier to give you the recipe. Take one part “The X-Files” and two parts The Substance, add in a dash of It Follows, and season liberally with real-world techno-terrorist billionaire behavior, and voila! You’re ready to taste test this high-camp sci-fi horror story. Still not convinced? Take a look at that cast. As usual, Murphy has assembled an A-list team that can’t be denied.

Premieres Jan. 21, 2026 on FX
  • Retour à Silent Hill (2026)

    8. Retour à Silent Hill

    Releases Feb 4, 20261h 46mR
When a man receives a mysterious letter from his lost love, he is drawn to Silent Hill, a once familiar town now consumed by darkness.
DirectorChristophe GansStarsJeremy IrvineHannah Emily AndersonRobert Strange
Long before the Backrooms, Silent Hill reigned supreme as the big daddy of liminal video game horror. The games’ central story about a fictional Maine town where nightmares manifest was a no-brainer for a movie adaptation, but after two early 2000s features, the franchise went dormant, leaving fans to wonder if they’d ever see the series on the big screen again. So it’s no wonder the third installment in the franchise is among your most anticipated of the year. Releasing 20 years after the first film, Return to Silent Hill draws on the second game’s narrative to tell a dark love story filled with mystery and death.

When a young woman faces a deadly diagnosis, she seeks dark magic from a witch in the woods - but every cure has costs
DirectorsJohn AdamsZelda AdamsToby PoserStarsJohn AdamsLulu AdamsZelda Adams
Indie horror is alive and well, and there are few filmmakers who embody that spirit like John Adams, Toby Poser, and their daughters Lulu and Zelda, who produce, write, direct, edit, score, and act in their movies. The Adams family have made an impressive eight features in the last 12 years. Like their 2021 Shudder hit Hellbender, Mother of Flies is another witchy work of art, with gorgeous visuals, strong performances, and a story that speaks to the disillusionment of modern science. When we spoke with John and Toby at Fantastic Fest in September, they shared some of their influences, which any aspiring guerrilla filmmakers should add to their Watchlists immediately.

  • Rachel McAdams in Send Help (2026)

    10. Send Help

    Releases Feb 11, 20261h 53mR
Two colleagues become stranded on a deserted island, the only survivors of a plane crash. On the island, they must overcome past grievances and work together to survive, but ultimately, it's a battle of wills and wits to make it out alive.
    DirectorSam RaimiStarsRachel McAdamsDylan O'BrienBruce Campbell
Horror fans hit the search bar hard when they learned about this new horror flick from Sam Raimi, and for good reason. This satisfying satire about survival of the fittest lampoons office culture by giving the under-appreciated Linda (Rachel McAdams) the upper hand after she and a toxic colleague (Dylan O’Brien) are stranded on a tropical island. It’s been well over a decade since Raimi has directed a horror movie, and we’re excited to see the living legend return to the genre that kick-started his career more than 40 years ago. Oh, and yes, you saw that right. Raimi bestie Bruce Campbell looks likely to make a cameo appearance. To that, we say “Groovy.”

When a new Ghostface killer emerges in the town where Sidney Prescott has built a new life, her darkest fears are realized as her daughter becomes the next target.
    DirectorKevin WilliamsonStarsNeve CampbellCourteney CoxIsabel May
In our hearts, the only thing left for 'Scream' to pull off is a way to bring Casey Becker back to life. If you aren't aware of all the behind-the-scenes drama that's gone down between 'Scream 6' and the development of its sequel, from strike-related delays to losing both of the franchise's newly minted franchise stars — Melissa Barrera for her outspoken political views, and Jenna Ortega over a salary dispute — the decision-makers shelled out for Neve Campbell's beloved Sydney Prescott to come out of hiding after her salary-related fracas caused us to miss out on her 'Scream 6' return. It's unclear at this time if the script will bleed out of the events of the last movie, but the current storyline lends itself to a direct sequel. Kevin Williamson, the creator and writer who somehow never directed one of the movies until now, takes over for the Radio Silence duo who successfully revived the franchise. We're expecting a 2026 release date to coincide with 30 Years of Ghostface.
