Game Of Thrones' Creators Wrote A Beloved It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia Episode
Image
It's hard to believe, but "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" has been on FX for 17 years now, bringing a steady stream of anarchy and bodily fluids to TV from the first episode to the latest. Shepherding the motley crew of Paddy's Pub is the trio of creators Rob Mac (formerly known as Rob McElhenney), Glenn Howerton, and Charlie Day, who have led the writing team across all 178 episodes of the series. There is one episode, however, in which the creative reins were handed to a pair of writers who typically write a very different style of TV: "Game of Thrones...

Taylor Sheridan Had A Very Good Reason For Writing Every Yellowstone Episode
Image
As the creator of Paramount's hit neo-Western series "Yellowstone," Taylor Sheridan has developed a reputation for being the sole creative force behind his own projects. In fact, Sheridan has shut down the idea of working with writers' rooms in the past, namely on his most popular Dutton drama. It's no secret that Sheridan pens most of his shows by himself, but the reason makes sense when you hear it.

"We tried to put a room together, and there was no time to put a room together," Sheridan told director Peter Berg in a conversation recorded by Gold Derby. "So,...

Why The Office's Original Spin-Off The Farm Was Canceled
Image
Spin-offs are a common move when popular shows approach their expiration date. Some work, some don't, and still others never see the light of day. "The Farm" was an attempted spin-off of NBC's smash-hit comedy "The Office" that falls into that last category. The proposed sitcom would have followed Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson) on his beet farm outside of Scranton, Pennsylvania, but the show never got picked up — and the pilot barely made its way to the streaming screen.

While there never an official statement as to why "The Farm" failed, the general consensus is that it just wasn't...

Most people are familiar with Jim Parsons as the actor who brought Sheldon Cooper to life on "The Big Bang Theory," from the CBS sitcom's launch in 2007 to its conclusion in 2019. While Parsons is best known for playing Sheldon, he also made a brief excursion into the Marvel Universe, although many diehard fans might have missed it.

Why HBO Didn't Make Yellowstone (Despite Initially Developing It)

HBO is synonymous with producing quality original shows, but the network's execs have let some opportunities fall by the wayside in the past. So what led to the folks at HBO turning down the modern-day horse opera?

Sheridan is known for having complete creative control of his projects, and he wasn't willing to change the show's Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) character to satisfy the HBO executives who felt she was too unlikable for viewers to accept.

With 22 Emmy wins, including five for outstanding comedy series, "Modern Family" remains one of the most acclaimed sitcoms of the 21st century. Much of the show's success, from its premiere in 2009 to its series finale in 2020, can be attributed to the ensemble cast, consisting of characters in a complex extended family led by patriarch Jay Pritchett (Ed O'Neill), along with his daughter Claire Dunphy (Julie Bowen) and his son Mitchell Pritchett (Jesse Tyler Ferguson).

All 12 Star Trek Series, Ranked
Image
For 60 years, "Star Trek" has been boldly going places — sometimes where no one has gone before, and other times exactly where it's already been, but from a different point of view. Gene Roddenberry created the show in part to give us an optimistic view of the future. In his ideal world, there was no more war on Earth, or hunger, or class distinction, and multinational, multiethnic crews of explorers ventured out into a galaxy of new aliens and planets to spread our views of basic decency. (Roddenberry's "perfect" future also included really short skirts on women, apparently.)

Today, basic decency...
