The privixy http proxy attempts to block popup ads in by rewriting javascript calls in the page. The code is not very smart and has a habit of rewriting function names in the main text of a page. You should turn this feature (the 'unsolicited-popups' filter) off in the privoxy config file and use a browser with built-in popup blocking instead.
