One other thing: out of curiosity, what phone are you using that uses SystemD as its init, and did it come that way, or did you put it there yourself?

Jolla phone running Sailfish OS. Comes with systemd as its native PID 1. While it could be improved in various places (nothing to do with the init system) I like it better than the Android phone I used to have. Apart from not being beholden to Apple or Google, the nice thing about it is that it has a reasonable Linux userland and is amenable to ssh'ing in and hacking in Python. Oh, and it runs for days without recharging ;^)

Days??? Impressive! I'm lucky if I get one day out of my Android phone.
