Reiser is not the smooth politician of Linus, has problems seeing faults outside his the closure of his vision, and - the more you read of his the more you realize - he's a kid. He's trying to carry a great weight on his shoulders, and is enormously in debt trying to fulfill these obligations. I personally have nothing but praise and respect for him.

If you're looking for faults with him it's shooting fish in a barrel. But so what. To misquote Al Davis, His ideas are going to take us to the next level, baby. It's going to be a royal pain in the ass, and it's the right thing to do.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Linux is often accused of lacking in innovation. Now we have someone that's really trying to innovate, and his code is getting ignored because he's sometimes an immature brat. None of the childish things he's done really erase the fact that he's basically devoted his life to a charity cause that is intended to help us all.

You can hate him, if you like, but why keep his code out? It doesn't hurt anyone that decides not to use it, and most people that I've talked to are excited to give it a try (even the crazy crap that is currently disabled). Mark it "experimental" or if they've got a little Hans in them, they can mark it "very experimental, dangerous++" and make the description "This will most likely delete all your files in the morning"... but for the users sake, just put it in.
